Quilters Day Out 2023
Quilters Day Out 2023 was a hugh success for our guild. The committee that coordinated the booth design and activities did a marvelous job. A doll house was created as sewing rooms with fabrics, ironing board, and all the necessary tools to create quilts. Everyone had fun seeing what they could find in the rooms!
A guild member demonstrated how to make one seamed flying geese and used her Feather Weight machine to make it happen. Written instructions were available as well as the end produce to take home as a visual example.
An area was set up for trivia and a correct answer was given a fat quarter as a prize.
Quilts were displayed behind and on the tables. A free gift was given to everyone, which was a bookmark that went on the corner of the page to mark your spot. Someone took a lot of time to make and donate all of them.
There was a brand-new Kentucky Covers Quilt Guild brochure created and distribute. Beautiful!!!
The guild also provided a basket full of quilting items donated by members and two $25.00 gift cards for local quilt shops. It was beautiful and worth at least $400. The winner of the basket went to the booth and shared with them their excitement for winning.
These ladies did a fabulous job sharing our guild with everyone! Thank You !!!
We had two first place ribbon winners with checks awarded on the Viewer's Choice Awards for Childrens Blocks,
Art category - Janice Hill and Traditional category Diane Rector.
There were also two second place ribbon winners in the block category,
Modern - Janice Hill Traditional - Marlene Dennis
The Viewer's Choice Award for Traditional Childrens Quilts had one of our members, Diane Rector won a ribbon for second place.
Way to go ladies!!! we are so proud of you!!!
