2019 PROJECT OF THE MONTH CLUB
The purpose of the club is to encourage members to do more sewing, and get things done, whether they are UFOs (unfinished objects), PHDs (projects half done), PIGS (projects in grocery sacks), or new projects you want to make.
The Club will run from February through September. Please sign up in advance (by the January meeting) and hand in your list of projects.
RULES (The rules are loosey-goosey, to goal is to enable you, not to trip you up!)
1) Make a list of 8 projects you want to make/complete, in the order you want to make them. Hand in your list, either at a meeting or by email. The list can be changed at any time, but it is a guideline for you to follow.
2) Describe each project, in terms like ‘Log cabin quilt, patriotic colors, 45 x 60”, for a hug quilt.’ Each project should be a substantial piece of work, and take a minimum of 10 hours to complete. A project need not be a start-to-finish quilt. You could make a quilt top as one month’s project, and quilt/bind it as another month’s project, since each of these takes at least 10 hours and results in a ‘thing’. A project need not be a quilt. It can be clothing, accessories, any sewing item, or even knitting/crochet/other needlework, but this IS a quilt guild, so most of your projects will probably be quilts.
2) Bring a completed project to each meeting for show and tell, or email a picture of it to me.
3) You are encouraged to make 2 (or more) hug quilts as part of the Club, but this is not a requirement.
4) If you don’t finish a project one month, you can catch up by finishing it plus another project from your list the next month. In other words, you can catch up. It’s best if you complete a project every month, but life happens, and that’s OK.
5) At the end of 8 the months, everyone who completes all 8 projects will enter a drawing for a prize.
6) Every member of the club will have completed projects (UFOs, PHDs, PIGS, or new projects)!
That’s something to be happy about!
